This is a question that has been repeatedly asked and I have tried all possible solutions, but here I am posting again since windows phones support is apparently useless. I have a nokia lumia , all software is up to date. I have the original cable which was included in the box and have plugged it into my computer.

The phone is charging, however no drivers exist, try to install or appear on my laptop. I have tried resetting the phone, I have tried resetting my laptop.

I have tried all possible combinations of these things. I uninstalled and reinstalled the windows phone app for desktop.

I have attempted to view hidden devices and scan for hardware changes in my device manager. I have also attempted to connect a different device to the computer using the same cable that I am using to connect my phone to the computer and it is NOT what the issue is. I have tried all solutions posted on other forums as well as the windows help and support pages. I cannot update the driver as there is nothing to update. It charges, but the computer doesn't think there is any new USB port being utilized when the phone is plugged in.
